Welcome

Thanks for choosing to stay at “Our Murphy Home”. We are so glad

you have decided to book with us, and we want to make sure you have

a 5-star stay.

There are plenty of great restaurants nearby, as well as loads of

attractions to see whilst you are in Murphysboro.

House Rules

We have a few rules which we’d like to let you know about. We know

rules are boring, but we’d really appreciate it if you could have a quick

read.

No Pets allowed

Our home isn’t setup for pets. Guests will be charged an extra cleaning

fee of $250 if found to have broken this rule.

No Smoking or Vaping

Smoking and vaping are not allowed inside the home. Extra cleaning

fee of $250 to remove odor and stains will be applied.

Check Out is 11:00am

Check-in is at 4:00PM and check-out is at 11:00AM. Any early check-in

or late check-out requests need prior approval by the host. Use the

reservation app’s message system to request the change. If our

schedule permits, we may allow an early check-in/ late check-out for a

fee of $25 per each extended hour. This amount will be charged to

your bill.

Please Clean Up Dishes

PLEASE WASH YOUR DISHES after each use. If dirty dishes are left after

checkout, an extra $15 cleaning fee will be added to your booking. We

ask guests to kindly dispose of food in the available trash can because

we do not have a garbage disposal in the sink.

Number of Guests

Only the guests noted in the booking are allowed overnight. A $25

charge will be added for every extra guest that is observed staying

overnight. We reserve the right to terminate your stay without refund

if you exceed the maximum occupancy (7).

No Parties

If guests are found to have had a party without host permission which

results in extra cleaning, guests will be responsible for extra cleaning

charges of $50, and in the unfortunate event of the disruptions alerting

neighbors, GUESTS WILL BE INSTRUCTED TO VACATE THE PROPERTY

IMMEDIATELY.

Respect Our Neighbors

Please refrain from making excessive noise outside after 11:00PM.

No Redecorating

Please do not rearrange our furniture.

Lights

We would really appreciate it if you could turn off all lights when you

leave the house each day and on check out.

Entry

We have a secure electronic keypad deadbolt access on the front door.

You will receive a code to open the door the day before your check-in.

Just touch the keypad to wake up the lock, enter in your code and then

press the # key and you should hear the lock say "unlocked". When

you leave each time, just touch the keypad to wake it up and then hold

the # key until the locks says "locked". Please note the door will

automatically lock after 15 minutes. Please make sure that doors,

windows, and sliding door are locked when checking out.

Parking

You are free to park in the garage but there are no remotes. You are

also free to park on the covered driveway or on the street.

Internet

Free WiFi is included in your stay. We have two networks to support

all manner of devices. Tampering with the Wifi/Router will result in

cancellation of your stay with no refund.

Kitchen

We have a fire extinguisher under the sink.

We have basic cooking utensils and equipment that you are free to

use, but we would greatly appreciate it if you could clean up prior to

checking out.

Please acknowledge that occasionally we may leave consumables such

as condiments or snacks left behind by previous guests if they are not

empty. We try our very best to ensure that it is not expired or stale.

HOWEVER, ultimately, it is up to the guests’ discretion and inspection

to consume these items if they wish. The host does not take any

responsibility for the consumables.

PLEASE throw out any opened/extra food or anything that will go bad

before you leave.

Laundry

You do have use of the washer and dryer during your stay. We do

provide a small amount of detergent and fabric softener in the cabinet

to the right of the washer. If you do use the washer, please leave the

lid open after your last load. You will find an iron (cabinet over the

water heater) and ironing board in the utility room off the kitchen.

Amenities

There is a hairdryer & curling iron located in the bathroom drawer.

Basic First Aid items are in the medicine cabinet. If you forgot

something, there are a few basic toiletries for emergency use.

There will be a stack of “cleanup” towels in the bottom of the linen

closet between the bedrooms. Please use these to clean up spills and

such. Please use the white towels & wash cloths just for bathing.

Please do not take any towels or linens from our home! If any are

missing, you will be charged for replacements.

We will supply enough paper goods to get you started (paper towels,

toilet paper, napkins, Kleenex, etc.) Please replace them if you use

them.

TV’s

We have Roku TV’s in the family room and all 3 bedrooms. We use

“Roku Guest Mode” so that you can select your checkout date and any

account you sign into will be removed on your checkout date at 12pm.

We do not have local TV service but there is a Live TV Station on the

Roku where you can watch basic TV selections if you don’t have

streaming accounts.

Security Cameras

We do have exterior security cameras on the front door, back deck,

and inside the garage. There are no cameras inside the house.

Disabling or tampering with external security cameras can result in

immediate cancellation without refund.

Thermostat

We have a Nest Thermostat. The temperature will be set to 73 when

you arrive. You can adjust the temperature but at 8am and 9pm, the

temperature will reset to 73. To adjust the temperature, tap the upper

right outside ring and then slide your finger up or down to adjust.

Games

To help you enjoy your stay, we have provided you with some board

games, feel free to use them but make sure to put all the pieces back

in the box when you’re done so nothing gets mixed up!

Trash

There is a large blue trash container outside the Garage Side Door

(front of the garage). Please take trash bags to the container and close

the lid. Trash Pickup is Monday mornings (even on holidays). If you

check out on Sunday or stay through Sunday, please roll the trash bin

to the curb. (If you unlock the side door, PLEASE remember to lock it!)

Please strip the bedsheets and pillow cases from the beds and put

them into one of the laundry baskets (provided in each closet)

Please gather all the towels and wash cloths from the bathroom and

kitchen and put them in another laundry basket.

Please close the front and rear curtains.

Please double check all the rooms for any chargers/cables you might

have left and forgotten to pack up!

You can visit www.murphysboro.com to see all the local attractions

that you can visit during your stay. Examples are Shawnee National

Forest, Lake Murphysboro, Kindkaid Lake, Shawnee Hills Wine Trail,

General John A. Logan Museum and many more! The SIU Carbondale

Campus is only 15 miles away. Giant City Lodge is only a 20-mile drive

away and offers a unique family dining experience.
